New life - let’s work together with Elia

New Life, an Italian company that develops and manufactures high-end contract furniture, has been following a sustainable path for many years. 

Working with designer Marco Zito, their latest project in the name of concreteness is the Elia Collection. 

“Honest, declinable, natural, systemic, simple, soft, rooted.”

These are seven adjectives that Marco Zito has identified to represent the new Elia seating family. 

The collection includes a dining chair, lounge chair, and bar stool and is based on a clear and profound sense of measure and naturalness.

Curved ash, expert joints, and noble & ancient craftsmanship characterise each model.

Utilising solid FSC® ash, partly from local forests, Certipur® certified padding, and upholstery fabrics from the most sustainable, recycled, or natural fibres.

The fabrics range from 100% recycled cotton to 100% post-consumer recycled polyester fabrics from used plastic bottles.

Finally, Quest, a fabric from the SEAQUAL® initiative, is designed to combat marine plastic pollution and achieve a waste-free environment.

It is created entirely from recycled polymeric fibres, precisely 75% from SEAQUAL®, a yarn from plastic waste collected from our seas, and 25% from bottles destined for landfills. It is also coloured with non-metallic dyestuffs.

One tiny drop in the mission to clean our Earth and oceans. 

Their approach to sustainability is part of a process that will increase tomorrow’s quality of life.
